For an international student with a “College Student” visa to work part-time, need to obtain a “Non-qualification activity permission” before entering Japan. Part-time jobs can be done within 28 hours a week, and long-term leave periods (summer, winter and spring breaks) can be worked within 8 hours a day. However, it is strictly prohibited to work in business related to customs business.
The ability to find a part-time job greatly depends on your communication skills and Japanese conversation skills. If you are early, you can find a part-time job within one month of your arrival in Japan, but it may take up to six months before you can be employed even if you have JLPT’s N4 level Japanese.
